
CRAFT & PUPPET MAKING
• Demonstrates how to make and work shadow, rod and hand puppets.
• Simple puppets can be created quickly – more elaborate or finished creations will take longer and materials need to be provided.
• Shadow puppets need a minimum of one and three quarter hours to make and complete on screen. Rod puppets take longer from half a day to a series of sessions.
• It is helpful to connect the ’making’ process to an idea. A group may already have a theme but the session can equally stimulate ideas to be followed up and performed.

PUPPET PERFORMANCE
• These workshops introduce the skills of bringing puppets to life (essential to puppetry) by characterisation and manipulation.
• The lively sessions create confidence in animating and presentation.
• The company bring along puppets as demonstration and for improvisation prior to participants getting hands on and adding their own personality.
• The session also includes an introduction to object theatre.

Performance session require a bright room with a trestle type demonstration table, (or 2 together). One or two other tables and a selection of lower surfaces to work on (particularly for young children or wheelchair attendees). Power point. Carpet or space for sitting on floor in front of demo table. Length of Session are 1 hour + in duration.
Groups of not more than 25 students are preferable.
